Coups de Vents International Composition Competition

March 18 – I am excited to announce that my wind ensemble work “Flow” was awarded an honorable mention in the Coups de Vents International Composition Competition in Paris, France!

Originally scheduled to be held in the Spring of 2021, the competition was postponed several times due to the COVID pandemic. The final was held on March 6, 2022 at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris, with the finalists works performed by l’Orchestre d’Harmonie de la Musique des Gardiens de la Paix de Paris.

It was a huge honor to be selected from 173 entries from 30 countries to be part of the competition, and this performance marks the European premiere of Flow. Inspired the movement of rivers, the piece was originally composed for the University of Toronto Wind Symphony, and has subsequently been performed by the National Youth Band of Canada on tour.

Looking forward to sharing a recording soon!
