June 2024 – Earlier this year, I received a very special invitation to be the featured guest composer at the Texas A&M University’s SoundWaves Festival in September 2024, an annual recurrence in Corpus Christi featuring new music by living composers. The festival will feature 12 works across my output from 2010 to 2023, ranging from orchestral, wind ensemble, choral, and chamber works performed by faculty and student ensembles between September 22-27, 2024. My heartfelt gratitude goes to the organizing committee – Dr. Rachel Messing, Dr. Carrie Pierce, and Dr. Caitlin Beare for this incredible honor and for their work to make this festival a reality. It is truly an honor to have a ‘portrait’ concert in a festival format and to follow in the footsteps of two incredible guest composers – Reena Esmail and Viet Cuong – featured in the past two seasons of the SoundWaves festival. I look forward to working with all the ensembles and artists come September!
