June 1 – We are almost halfway through 2021 and it has been a busy year thus far with many pieces written as well as many projects being prepared for the remainder of the year. Decoupling (2021)
for two sopranos, piano, cello & percussion

Commissioned by the Artsong Collaborative Project led by Alondra Vega-Zaldivar, the theme uniting all works this year is the plight of climate change. I have written a song and text based on the concept of environmental decoupling for the resident chamber ensemble. Recording in the summer of 2021 coming soon.
Stutter-Steps (2021)
for oboe solo
2 minutes
I was invited to take part in the Gabriela Lena Frank Academy which involved an oboe workshop with esteemed performers Kyle Bruckmann and Titus Underwood. The piece Stutter-Steps explores microtones and highly unstable rhythms in a virtuosic piece for the oboe.
