Hi folks! It’s been a while since I’ve known but I am elated to finally announce that the Toronto Symphony Orchestra has commissioned me to write a new work for their 2020/2021 season! A new initiative made possible by incoming music director Gustavo Gimeno, the commission will be performed three times in November 2020 alongside new works by Canadian composers Bekah Simms and Adam Scime. NextGen Composers Description
As part of Music Director Gustavo Gimeno’s commitment to supporting and developing Canadian talent, three rising-star composers will be mentored and have a five-minute piece performed in the season. TSO RBC Affiliate Composer Emilie LeBel will work with the composers and foster an ongoing relationship that creates fertile ground for these artists, who are on the cusp of the next stage of their careers.
