“Tempest” for String Quartet wins the 2015 Washington International Competition for Composition | Washington, D.C.

My string quartet “Tempest” was recently selected as the winner of the 2015 Washington International Competition for Composition, held by the Friday Morning Music Club in Washington!  This international competition dates from 1976 and takes place every 3 years.  The winner of this prestigious award  receives the world premiere of his/her work at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Washington International Strings Competition Finals as well as $5000.  I am very honored to be selected from a field of 86 applications from 19 different countries around the world by judges Michael Torke, Mark Taggart, and John Hilliard.  More info.
