September 2024 – The Canada Council for the Arts has generously funded the composition of a new Concerto for Dizi and Cello for the 2024/2025 season. I am incredibly grateful for their longstanding support for the arts and for the chance to write something for two outstanding soloists, flautist Jiajia Li and cellist Andrea Case!
The new work was commissioned by Calgary based ensembles the Kensington Sinfonia and the Chinese instrumental group GaiLan Ensemble for a joint concert at the end of their 2024/2025 seasons.
